• The Everglades in a Day You can be at the entrance in about 45 minutes from Key Largo. The Everglades is the largest subtropical wilderness in the US and is a World Heritage site. Start at the area called Royal Palm where you can take the Anhinga Trail, a boardwalk over sawgrass, prarie and water. Here you get amazing looks at the wildlife that call the Everglades home. Continue your trip south toward Flamingo where you can take a boat tour of Florida Bay. If you are lucky, you will see a highly endangered American
Crocodile.
• Dolphin Encounters Especially fun for the youngsters, several fa- cilities offer dolphin encounters. These can range from snorkeling in a lagoon where dolphins are swimming to interacting with dolphins with the assistance of trainers.
• The Turtle Hospital Everyone in the family will enjoy touring this facility which is dedicated to the re- habilitation and release of sea turtles. The

Turtle Hospital provides guided educational tours which include the opportunity to feed turtles that are permanent residents.
• The History of Diving Museum Visitors to this museum can learn about the history of military, commercial, and rec- reational diving as well as see the largest international collection of dive helmets and artifacts.

• Key West About two hours from Key Largo, Key West is a great day trip. A bus tour a fun way to see the city and learn about its history. You can spend the day shopping and visiting some of the many historic attractions. Don't miss the world-famous Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square. This arts festival features performers who walk tight ropes, juggle swords, and entertain the crowd with music and humor.
